Number 2 crashed and was retired.  Number 12, driver Stuart Lewis-Evans in a Vanwall.  Number 12 was in a crash and was retired.  Driver Stuart Lewis-Evans suffered burns in the crash which proved fatal six days later back in a specialist burns hospital in England.
