After six years of construction, Herda first entered the car at Bonneville in 1956, where it reached a speed of 237.78 mph, finishing second in Class C. The car was powered by a 300 cubic inch Supercharged Chrysler motor built by Doug Hartelt under the direction of Fred Carrillo.
