Number 15 - Jackie Stewart's works 2-litre V8 BRM P261. Stewart spun on the opening lap in a rain squall, and the car was destroyed against a trackside building at the Masta Kink. Stewart suffered serious injuries, and was rescued by team-mate Graham Hill and private BRM driver Bob Bondurant.

Stewart was rescued from the wrecked car by fellow BRM drivers Graham Hill and Bob Bondurant who also spun off nearby. Car '2617' was destroyed.
