Wally Meskowski built the chassis in his ‘Competition Engineering’ shop on 16th Street Indianapolis, and then shipped it to the nearby shop of metalsmith Joe Silnes who built the body. As a result of this division of labor, some historians identify this car as a “Silnes” while others refer to it as a “Meskowski.”
