After finish, central group of five behind car includes driver Johnny Claes (right) with co-driver Jacques Swaters (left) and their Ecurie Francorchamps-entered Jaguar D-type chassis XKD 503, which finished third overall. Former jazz band leader Claes died soon after from tuberculosis. Swaters went on to become Belgian Ferrari concessionaire and for many years patron of Ecurie Francorchamps campaigning Ferrari cars.
